Our Protection Policy

Your privacy and data is of utmost importance to us and we will protect these valuable assets in a determined and responsible manner.

We strive to be in the forefront of technologies, embracing improvements, but at the same time keeping a keen eye on privacy and data protection.

We value the trust given to us by our clients, and we will ensure that this will not be neglected or ignored. We want our clients to feel safe and secure.

Overview

In this policy, MyCompany (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (“MYCO” or “we” or “our” or “us”) acts within the Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the “PDPA”), “you”, “your” or “yours” means the persons to whom this policy applies to. This policy applies to any individual’s personal data which is in our possession or under our control. We recognize the importance this data provided to us and considers our responsibility to properly safeguard and process your personal data. This policy aims to help you understand what personal data is collected or processed by us, and for what purposes it is used.

Personal data is defined in the Personal Data Protection Act as “data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified — a) from that data; or b) from that data and other information to which the organisation has or is likely to have access”. We also go on to define “Personal data” as data that can be used to uniquely identify a natural person.

By providing your personal data to us, you acknowledge and agree that you have fully read and understood this policy, and consent to the collection, use, processing and disclosure of your personal data as described in this policy.

What data do we collect?

To service you, we collect personal information, such as:

  • Full name
  • Copy of NRIC or passport or other identification document
  • Contact details (telephone, fax)
  • Residential address
  • Email address
  • Other personal information required by government agencies
  • Signature
  • Photo/video of yourself and your identification document

The data collected is for the purposes and disclosure to government agencies.

PDPA provisions (parts III to VI) do not apply to:

  • Any public agency or organisation in the course of acting on behalf of a public agency in relation to the collection, use or disclosure of the personal data.
  • Business contact information. This refers to an individual’s name, position name or title, business telephone number, business address, business electronic mail address or business fax number and any other similar information about the individual, not provided by the individual solely for his or her personal purposes.

All Information provided will be used for the purposes of sharing with ACRA and other Statutory Bodies.

Our Website and Application are set up to automatically collect anonymous information about visitors to help us understand our website visitors and their traffic patterns; to know when visitors have accessed our site, which devices our they use for statistical purposes and to improve our service.

We will not share any information collected with any non-authorised third parties.

Use of personal data

We use email, MyCo cloud applications and various social media accounts to communicate with clients regarding their requests and services provided. We will occasionally notify you of our new services and corporate special offers via applications or e-mail updates.

Marketing Purpose

We may use your personal data to offer you products or services, including special offers, promotions, contests or entitlements that may be of interest to you or for which you may be eligible. Such marketing messages may be sent to you in various modes including but not limited to electronic mail, direct mailers, short message service, telephone calls, facsimile and other mobile messaging services. In doing so, we will comply with the Personal Data Protection Act of Singapore (PDPA) and other applicable data protection and privacy laws, such as the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We may, as part of our ongoing relationship with you, send marketing messages to you. You may at any time request that we stop contacting you for marketing purposes via selected or all modes.

Disclosure and Sharing of Personal Data

We may from time to time and in compliance with all applicable laws on data privacy, disclose your personal data to any of our staff or to third parties, whether located in Singapore or elsewhere, in order to carry out the purposes set out above. Please be assured that when we disclose your personal data to such parties, we require them to ensure that any personal data disclosed to them are kept confidential and secure.

We disclose your personal and business information only with government bodies for corporate and legal purposes as an organisation in the course of acting on behalf of public agencies.

Other than those individuals and entities listed below, your Personal Information will not be revealed by MyCo to any external body, unless MyCo has your explicit permission, or is under either a legal obligation or any other duty to do so. The information provided by you may be disclosed by us to:

  • regulatory authorities;
  • lawyers / accountants / auditors or other advisors of MyCo;
  • third party service providers;
  • any agents acting on our behalf; and
  • other retailers / business partners / credit information companies / bureaus for the purpose of credit evaluation and debt recovery/collection.

We wish to emphasise that MyCo does not sell personal data to any third parties and we shall remain fully compliant of any duty or obligation of confidentiality imposed on us under the applicable agreement(s) and/or terms and conditions that govern our relationship with you or our customer or any applicable law.

We may transfer, store, process and/or deal with your personal data outside Singapore. In doing so, we will comply with the PDPA and other applicable data protection and privacy laws, such as the GDPR.

Cookies and Related Technologies

Our web sites and mobile applications (“apps” or an “app”) use cookies. A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a web site or use an app. Cookies collect information about users and their visit to the web site or use of the app, such as their Internet protocol (IP) address, how they arrived at the web site (for example, through a search engine or a link from another web site) and how they navigate within the web site or app. We use cookies and other technologies to facilitate your internet sessions and use of our apps, offer you products and/or services according to your preferred settings, track use of our web sites and apps and to compile statistics about activities carried out on our web sites and/or through our apps.

Other Web Sites

Our web sites may contain links to other web sites which are not maintained by us. When visiting these third party web sites, you should read their privacy policies which will apply to your use of the web sites.

Retention of Personal Data

Section 25 of the PDPA requires us to retain your documents containing personal data as long as we have:

  • Specific business requirements of services we provide to you;
  • The obligation under the law to save the data even after our business relationship is over.
